USPSA classifier intelligence

What is MatchChaser?

MatchChaser is a free web app for USPSA practical shooters that tracks your classifier scores and tells you the exact hit factor you need on your next classifier to make your target class — the classification math the official USPSA site doesn’t do for you.

What it does

USPSA scores classifier stages by hit factor (points ÷ time), and your percentage on a classifier is your hit factor against USPSA’s official High Hit Factor (HHF) for that stage and division. Your classification is the average of your best recent percentages. MatchChaser turns that into something actionable: it stores every classifier you’ve shot, computes your current standing in each division, and works backward to the precise hit factor you need on your next stage to reach the class you’re chasing.

How it works

  1. Add your classifiers. Paste your history from USPSA, enter scores by hand, or (for paid members) sync your official record from USPSA in one click.
  2. Pick a target. Set the class you’re working toward in each division.
  3. See your number. MatchChaser shows the exact hit factor you need on upcoming classifiers, by division and classifier code, plus your projected timeline.
  4. Analyze your matches. Get a stage-by-stage breakdown of any match you log; with a membership, import from PractiScore in one click and use the what-if sandbox.

Frequently asked questions

What is MatchChaser?

MatchChaser is a free web app for USPSA practical shooters. It tracks your classifier scores, calculates your classification percentage in every division you shoot, and tells you the exact hit factor you need on your next classifier to reach a target class — the math the official USPSA site doesn’t do for you.

Who is MatchChaser for?

Any USPSA competitor, from a brand-new Unclassified shooter to a Grandmaster, who wants to track their progress and train with a clear target. If you’ve ever wondered “what do I actually need to shoot to make the next class,” it’s built for you.

How much does it cost?

The whole app is free — the classifier tracker, projector, leaderboards, and match analysis. An optional membership ($5/month or $50/year) adds the automations and what-if tools: automatic USPSA classifier sync, one-click PractiScore match import, and the classifier and stage What-If sandboxes. The thing you came for stays free.

Which USPSA divisions does it support?

All the major divisions: Open, Limited, Limited Optics, Limited 10, Production, Production Optics, Carry Optics, Single Stack, and PCC. Your projection is calculated separately for each division you shoot.

How do I get my classifier history into MatchChaser?

Three ways: paste it straight from your USPSA “View Classifiers” page (one division or your whole classification page at once), enter scores manually, or — for paid members — sync your official record from USPSA in one click. Duplicates are detected and skipped automatically.

Can MatchChaser analyze matches, not just classifiers?

Yes. The stage-by-stage breakdown, the head-to-head against the division winner, and your clean-run potential come with any match you log. With a membership you can also import a match in one click from a PractiScore link and use the interactive what-if sandbox — adjust your time and hits to see where you would have placed.

Does it use official USPSA hit factors?

Yes. MatchChaser uses USPSA’s published High Hit Factors (HHFs) to compute your percentage on each classifier and the precise hit factor you need to hit your target class.

What else can it track?

Your range bag: firearms, ammo inventory, and rounds downrange, with low-stock and maintenance-interval reminders — plus classifier leaderboards and performance-trend charts.

Is MatchChaser affiliated with USPSA or PractiScore?

No. MatchChaser is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by USPSA or PractiScore.
